March 2024 E-update

Dear Constituents,

With the vibrant spirit of Irish Heritage Month and March break, I hope all of you are feeling energized with spring around the corner. Try our Irish ☘️ soda bread recipe at the end of the update.

While affordability remains a concern, Canada’s inflation is decreasing. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) project that Canada will have the strongest economic growth in the G7 in 2025. 📈

The federal budget will be revealed on April 16th. Some hints of what is to come: Making your rental history count towards your credit score to qualify for a mortgage. 🏠

Please see the letter from the Prime Minister regarding the Canada Carbon rebate. It dispels some of the disinformation that is out there. 💌

With the tax filing deadline just around the corner, this update includes some useful tax filing information to support you in filing your taxes. Please remember to file your taxes even if you do not have any income to continue to be able to access federal benefits.
